Phoebe Burt – SEO and Communities Editor
Phoebe has worked for Gathered for over 3 years, having previously worked for Mollie Makes magazine. She manages our Arts & Crafts and commerce content, specialises in social media and content strategy, has a background in all things marketing, a flair for Pinterest and a knack for finding the next big craft trend.
Katie Dolan– Digital Assistant
Katie Dolan edits our needlework section – focusing on our embroidery and cross stitch articles, alongside filming and editing video tutorials for our Arts and Crafts section. When she’s not crafting, she’s usually fuelling her Harry Potter addiction with a Sunday film marathon and a couple of butter beers!
Sarah Winsper – Digital Assistant
Sarah has been knitting for as long as she can remember, and spends her working days thinking about yarn as our knitting specialist, having more than 10 years’ experience in the publishing industry. She works closely with Simply Knitting and The Knitter and knows what knitters want, as she is one herself - check out her latest patterns on Ravelry.
Matt Spiers – Digital Assistant
Matt Spiers is an artist, designer and founding editor of Gathered.how. What started as a hobby a decade ago led to Matt developing a passion (and then a career) with crochet. Having worked for Simply Crochet magazine for 5 years, Matt now manages our crochet section as well as being an all-round craft master.

Sara Huntington - Editor
Crochet designer, teacher and Editor of Simply Crochet magazine, Sara Huntington is a legend in the crochet community. Sara started as a crochet designer for Simply Crochet before becoming the editor in 2015. She still regularly designs for the magazine as well as teaching crochet in her spare time. Paula Green - Technical Editor
Paula Green has worked as the technical editor on Simply Crochet Magazine for over seven years – a role that she loves! She edits and checks all the crochet patterns in each issue, to make sure they are as easy to follow as possible. Her favourite things to make are chunky jumpers and bright blankets. In her spare time, Paula loves a good quiz, baking and all things sci-fi/fantasy.

Kirstie McLeod - Editor
Kirstie is the Editor of Simply Knitting and Commissioning Editor of The Knitter, and what she doesn’t know about knitting isn’t worth knowing! She’s responsible for packing both magazines with gorgeous, fresh patterns by designers from all over the globe and bringing the biggest trends from the fashion world straight to your needles. Helen Spedding - The Knitter Operations Editor
Helen is Operations Editor on The Knitter. She enjoys knitting, sewing and exploring traditional techniques, writing the yarn and book reviews for The Knitter as well as keeping the magazine running smoothly. In her spare time Helen enjoys working on her own knitting projects - she’s on a mission to improve her stranded colourwork so she can cast on more Fair Isle projects.
Sophie Jordan - Simply Knitting Deputy Editor
Sophie has been Simply Knitting magazine's Deputy Editor for the past seven years and a devoted knitter for 45 years. Sophie’s love for all crafts knows no bounds; you'll often catch her sewing, crocheting, or embroidering in her downtime. A confident knit designer, Sophie lends her creative touch to Simply Knitting, The Knitter magazines, and yarn brand, Scheepjes.
Jen Bartlett – Technical Editor
Jen has worked on The Knitter and Simply Knitting on the technical side of things for nearly 15 years. She loves the challenge of co-ordinating the work flow for all of the freelance pattern checkers and really enjoys translating and drawing designers’ charts in digital format for our readers to use. A knitter for 20 years, she is happiest when sitting in her favourite chair by the window and knitting her latest pair of cosy socks. She’s also a runner, but sadly hasn’t yet worked out how to do both at once!
Cory Sydee – Technical Editor
Cory is an enthusiastic crafter whose interests span knitting, spinning, cross stitch, sewing and much more, the list just keeps growing! With a love for numbers and interesting construction techniques, she’s a technical editor for The Knitter and Simply Knitting. Cory has been knitting for about 20 years and loves making socks and using brioche in projects. Whilst crafting, there’s nothing Cory enjoys more than cuddling up with her dog Noodle and watching horror films.

Vicki Atkinson – Editor
Vicki has been editing craft magazines since 2006, embracing a range of crafts from stitching and embroidery to paper crafting and yarn. Talking to designers who really know their crafts is a huge part of what Vicki loves about the job, working together to create designs and patterns that the magazine readers and followers will enjoy to make for themselves. And in her spare time, she can be found stitching or card making in front of the TV.
Fiona Baker - Senior Technical Editor
Fiona is Senior Technical Editor for The World of Cross Stitching, sharing insight from over 15 years experience on the stitching titles. She’s responsible for ensuring every project is technically correct, and writes features and tutorials on everything from stitch types to model making know-how. She also creates the exclusive patterns from illustrations and designs her own patterns too – check out her etsy store and Instagram @fionabakerdesign
Sienna Samra – Production Editor
Sienna is the Production Editor for The World of Cross Stitching and has since began to develop an interest in all things stitch, all the while embracing the written word. She has worked on a variety of projects – from wildlife to period pieces, even some mini motifs, she’ll find the right thing to say. In her free time she loves to knit, stitch, read and run as they help her to relax after a long day’s work.
Hannah Erskine - Charting Assistant
Hannah has been Charting Assistant for The World of Cross Stitching for seven years, combining her love of cross stitch with her interest in other crafts too. She turns model stitching for the magazine into the finished projects on the page, taking in a range of craft techniques. She also uses her lifetime of stitching to provide a font of technical knowledge.

Charlie Moorby - Editor
Former Mollie Makes Deputy Editor and CrossStitcher Commissioning Editor, Charlie has been editing Simply Sewing for 9 years. She is passionate about all things needle and thread! With over fifteen years’ experience in craft publishing, she’s edited and curated over 10 bookazines, contributed to a series of Mollie Makes books and has had her work featured in All About You, Beads Trends USA and The Guardian. Sarah Trevelyan – Production Editor
Sarah loves painting, drawing, creating and all things textiles and craft, but her main love is machine sewing. Founder of small business Sarah Loves To Sew – Sarah offered one-to-one sewing lessons, workshops and ran a monthly sewing subscription business, alongside juggling a new career in film and TV. Sarah is Production Editor for Simply Sewing - drawing on her previous 20 plus years in publishing and content creation.
Sarah Taylor – Technical Editor
Sarah Taylor is the Technical Editor for Simply Sewing Magazine. She loves making her own clothes and her wardrobe consists nearly entirely of handmade garments. Sarah is a sewing blogger and ran her own fabric shop and sewing school for six years before coming to work with Simply Sewing. When not sewing, she loves trying her hand at other crafts, baking, singing in Bristol Show Choir and befriending any cats and dogs she meets!

Fiona Lawrence - Editor
Having worked in the publishing industry for over 20 years, Fiona has worked in most positions, from sub editor working up to becoming editor of Today’s Quilter. Working with experts like Lin Clements and Paula Hope (technical editor for the mag), plus incredibly talented designers on Today’s Quilter magazine, Fiona has learnt everything she knows about the wonderful world of quilting. Every day she picks up new skills and can’t wait to see what else she’ll learn and what projects she’ll make in the future.
Paula Hope – Technical Editor
Paula Hope has been sewing since childhood. She studied Silversmithing and Jewellery at Glasgow school of Art and went on to teach Art and design in secondary schools. She finished her first quilt in 1997 and has never looked back. In 2003, Paula started teaching Patchwork and Quilting and subsequently started writing her own patterns for classes and workshops. Rebecca Tomes – Production Editor
Rebecca Tomes is Production Editor at Today’s Quilter and joined Our Media at the start of 2023. Before this, she worked for 18 months as the junior editor of a financial magazine after receiving a master’s degree in English Language and Linguistics from Cardiff University.

Lorna Fairey – Editor
Quilt pro and wordsmith Lorna is responsible for the colourful content inside Love Patchwork & Quilting magazine, working with international quilt designers to feature the hottest trends in modern quilting.
If she’s not at work, she’s probably still covered in threads, crafting with a scary film on in the background, or pottering away at her allotment. Her designs and words have been featured in Love Patchwork & Quilting, Mollie Makes, Simply Sewing and more. Find her on Instagram @walkpaperscissors
Ingrid Devaux – Production
Ingrid is Production Editor at Love Patchwork & Quilting magazine, blending a passion for crafts with an eye for detail. She is curious and always eager to learn new crafts, constantly having about ten projects in her mental to-do list. At the moment, outside of work she immerses herself in the world of crochet or jewellery-making, bringing her creative visions to life. Aside from crafting, nature and animals hold a special place in her heart. She loves nothing more than to go on long countryside walks with her dogs on a nice spring day.
Sarah Griffiths – Technical Editor
Sarah is our resident tech-expert, as at home whipping up quilt samples as she is tackling complex quilt-math with the aid of her trusty calculator, so she’s an essential part of Love Patchwork & Quilting team! She’s got a fabric stash that any quilter would envy (and yes, it’s a stash – not a hoard!) and an almost indecent number of projects on the go at any one time. Nikki Morgan – Editor
Nikki is the founding Editor of Love Embroidery magazine, with over 14 years of experience writing for craft and lifestyle titles. She’s passionate about modern stitching techniques, finding new and inspirational designers to feature, and making craft accessible for everyone. Nikki is also a prolific multi-crafter, dabbling in everything from lino printing and pyrography to jewellery making and polymer clay, as well as, of course, needlework. When she isn’t busy commissioning new patterns for the magazine, or baking and painting with her daughter, Enid, you’ll find her making miniatures for dolls’ houses, styling her 60s home, or learning how to make Middle Eastern pastries!
Heather Nugent – Technical Editor
Heather is the Technical Editor for Love Embroidery magazine and is passionate about all things thread. She started stitching at the age of five and hasn’t really put down a needle since. She’s also an embroidery designer, cross stitch designer and multi-crafter, best known for her modern embroidery designs and 3D cross stitch creations. She’s created designs for many titles, including Your Home, Today’s Quilter, RSPB Wild Explorer, bbcgoodfood.com, The World of Cross Stitching, Love Embroidery, Lakeside Needlecraft, and Cotton Clubs Crafts. Caitlin McDougall - Production Editor
Caitlin has always had a love for all things crafty ever since it has been engrained in her from a young age by her talented mum. From embroidery to jewellery making to painting, she likes to dabble in and out of new and old mediums whenever she finds inspiration. She is currently learning how to use her new sewing machine in hopes to be able to start making her own summer clothes. Caitlin is delighted to have found her dream role as Production Editor for Love embroidery – embracing her passion for writing, content creation, and embroidery and can’t wait to see where this new venture takes her!
