The Landscape Artist of the Year final will be at this iconic Wonder of the World…
Our favourite art show is finally back on screens, and this series is extra special because it's the show's 10th anniversary!
Over the last ten years, Landscape Artist of the Year has provided hours of entertainment and inspired us to appreciate the beauty of our surroundings. We've seen a mix of talented amateur and professional artists paint the most spectacular landscapes the UK has to offer - from rolling fields to coastal views to cityscapes.
And now the show is back with a brand-new series to add a burst of colour to our Wednesday nights. Tune into Sky Arts every Wednesday at 8pm for the latest episode, which will see the artists in a different UK location each week.
These stunning locations include Llanberis Lake (nestled at the foot of Mount Snowdon), Bristol's Clifton Suspension Bridge, and St Pancras Basin in London. The first heat aired on the 22nd of January and took place in Hampton Court Palace, with the eight contestants picking up their brushes and re-creating the majestic home of Henry VIII in just four hours.
The lucky semi-finalists (including one 'wildcard' artist) will head to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard for the penultimate episode. For the final, and saving the best till last, the artists will be tasked with capturing one of the wonders of the world - Stonehenge.
Actor and comedian Stephen Mangan is back hosting the show again this year, and is joined by three expert judges - portrait artist Tai-Shan Schierenberg, art curator Kathleen Soriano and art historian Kate Bryan. They have the mighty task of crowning this series's 'Landscape Artist of the Year', who will be awarded a £10,000 commission for the prestigious Courtauld Gallery to create a landscape of the South of France.
