"Me dressing up as one of the Village People, that’s got BAFTA written all over it!" The new series of Alan Carr’s Interior Design Master is back
Our favourite interiors show returns to our screens in April and it's bigger, better and even more fabulous than years before (according to Alan Carr that is).
Interior Design Masters is back for a brand-new series that features even more incredible, inspiring renovations. Ten interior designers from up and down the country will compete for eight weeks in the hope of being crowned Britain's best designer.
"There's loads of twists and turns this year, I think you're going to be really surprised, and you'll love it!" - Alan Carr
National treasure Alan Carr is back to present the show's sixth series, alongside the talented judge Michelle Ogundehin. This iconic duo are there to support and advise the designers, but also aren't afraid to share their true feelings. As Alan Carr shared in his interview with us:
"I don’t want to throw any of our super-talented designers under the bus, but I’m sure they would admit that there were some dubious design choices!
"No spoilers here but for the audience who like a bit of randomness and live for those ‘What were they thinking moments?!!’ Then they won’t be disappointed."

This year's contestants will be facing a range of fun and interesting challenges, covering everything from redesigning comedy clubs to creating a rehoming room for rescue dogs. For Alan, it was the luxury retirement home challenge which caught his attention...
"For one of the episodes in this series of Interior Design Masters, we do luxury retirement homes, and I noticed that it was all about the home staging. It's a showroom for people to go and see the homes, so you’re thinking about how you inspire them."

Alan also shared some rather unusual highlights from this year's series which include him dressing up as one of the Village People!
"My other highlights this year are the challenge we did in Rye [East Sussex] when everyone came out to see what they'd done and everyone just applauded. That was a really emotional moment. And also, me dressing up as one of the Village People, that’s got BAFTA written all over it!"
But all that excitement is to come. The first episode you have to look forward to (airing Thursday 10th April, 8pm, BBC One) features YHA bunk rooms in the Lake District! Each contestant will redesign the space in their signature style, hoping to win over Michelle Ogundehin and guest judge Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen.
We can't wait to watch the first episode of Interior Design Masters and see some of those twists and turns Alan mentioned, as well as seeing him in that infamous Village People outfit!
Interior Design Masters starts Thursday 10th April, 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
