From amethyst to quartz discover the best crystals for healing

Crystals have always been used for their healing properties. They’re naturally formed under pressure and they’re a good support network: they work with our energy to draw in what we need and draw out what we no longer need.

When it comes to using crystals in the home, it’s your space so it’s up to you where you put them. If you want to bring more love in, where is the heart of your home? Or maybe you want to get more creative in the kitchen, so let’s put in some crystals to promote that.

It’s all about using your own intuition. Crystals are great at bringing in a sense of calm or an energy that you feel is lacking. They work both ways!

Crystals make a special gift

If you’re thinking about giving a crystal as a gift, be intuitive when you choose one and trust your gut feeling. Rose quartz is the stone of unconditional love so I always think that’s a lovely one to give. Amethyst is good for stimulating the mind but also for a really beautiful deep sleep.

You can get crystals in candleholders, in jewellery as a piece to carry, or even a crystal facial, so the range of gifts available is varied.

If you receive a crystal as a present it’s worth taking the time to get to know it. When people say ‘I’ve got crystals in my flat but they’re not really doing anything,’ I ask: ‘Have you actually asked it to do anything?’ We need to spark a relationship with them.

You can meditate with them or else cleanse them by running them through water. Then sit with them and say: ‘This what I need of you.’ If you’re not sure, say: ‘I need you to do what you think is best.’

We get too stuck on what we think we need and something a bit more magical can be happening in the background!

Smoky quartz

If you’ve got a lot of people coming in and out of your house, you want to try and maintain a level of balance. A smoky quartz crystal is great because it’s like a Hoover of energy and sucks up anything negative. It’s a delicious pairing with black tourmaline, which is very similar.

Citrine

MillionYearsCrystal / Etsy

Citrine is the stone of abundance. It brings that energy flow into your home so you allow for prosperity but without labelling it. We can get a fear of money but it’s about tapping into that flow and being open to receiving. I think we get caught up in that mindset that: ‘I’m not worthy’ and citrine helps with that too.
