Award-winning actress and national sweetheart Amanda Seyfried has gone viral for her latest appearance on Late Night with Seth Myers where she shared her latest obsession... crochet!
What started as a COVID lockdown activity, has blossomed into a full hobby with Amanda sharing her latest creation, a beautiful Icelandic poppy. She tells Seth "I'm now addicted to those, they're all over the house!"
@latenightseth Amanda Seyfried is in her giving era with her new crochet hobby.
Many crafters related to her vacant stare when Seth asked the question "How many hours did it take you to make this?" We've truly all been there.
The pattern, originally from CrochetOasis on Etsy, took Amanda two hours to make (pretty good going we think) or in her words "two episodes of The Bachelor" which is our new favourite way of measuring our crafting time. As Syd G commented: "Her using shows as a time indicator is so real."
We also know Amanda is a real crocheter because she shouted out the pattern designer on the show. Her respect for the original designer won over many fans with comments like Stephabee's "shouting out the pattern maker! She's a real one" getting over 50,000 likes.

She also shared how she gives a lot of her crochet creations as gifts, saying: "You know it's made with love." She even shared how she gifted a handmade crochet bag to her co-star Sydney Sweeny!
Amanda's not the only celebrity who has taken to crafting recently. Olympic champion Tom Daley is a famous fan of knitting and is set to host the new Game of Wool show, coming this summer.
Amanda's Instagram posts of her crochet have even inspired others to pick up their own hooks and yarn. In the Reddit thread aptly named 'Crochet a la Amanda Seyfried' charliebean3 says:
"So I've always wanted to learn how to crochet and I'm finally officially inspired by what actress Amanda Seyfried posted to her Instagram account."
We love seeing the passion Amanda Seyfried has for crochet and hope it inspires many more people to start this therapeutic hobby.
