We love these wide-eyed crochet owls and their picnic for two – they’re just so cute. You can use the basics of this free crochet owl pattern by Lucy Pollock to make a simple owl, but there's also some fun picnic accessories and a hat for each crochet owl that instantly gives them extra character! Eyes (make 4)
Using 4mm hook and White, make a crochet magic loop.
Round 1 Ch1 (does not count as st throughout), 4dc in loop. [4 sts]
Round 2 2dc in each st around. [8 sts]
Round 3 (Dc in next st, 2dc in next st) four times. [12 sts]
Round 4 (Dc in next 2 sts, 2dc in next st) four times. [16 sts]
Ss and fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Owl body
Boris is made in Sherbet yarn, Martha in Clematis yarn.
Using 4mm hook and either Sherbet/ Clematis, make a crochet magic loop.
Round 1 Ch1 (does not count as st throughout), 6dc in loop. [6 sts]
Round 2 2dc in each st around. [12 sts]
Round 3 (Dc in next st, 2dc in next st) six times. [18 sts]

Stem and cup

To make up
Sew down the edges of the white eyes to the body of the owl. Sew the beak between both eyes, with the triangle pointing downwards.
Sew the wings to each side of the body, placing the top of each wing in line with the bottom of the eyes.
Sew the hats to the top of the heads if you wish.
Sew all the ends into the blanket, basket and glasses. Go back and forth with a needle through the top of the bottle to make sure the stuffing doesn't fall out.
