Tension isn’t too important; just aim for a tight fabric which covers the egg so no polystyrene shows through.

Abbreviations (UK)

dc2tog double crochet 2 together: (insert hook in next st, yrh and draw loop through) twice, yrh and draw through all three loops on hook. For more help, see our how to make a crochet decrease tutorial.

Notes

Try out your crochet Easter egg cover after a couple of rounds to check your tension, and pop your polystyrene egg in before you decrease too much, otherwise, it won’t fit.

Each egg is worked in the round in a continuous spiral. Don’t join at the end of each round, and mark the first st of a round. You'll need to know how to crochet in the round to make these crochet Easter eggs.
