Caroline Birkett

Caroline Birkett is a very experienced designer who has a degree in Textile Design and a Postgraduate Diploma in Knitwear Design. Her career as a designer began in manufacturing, eventually becoming Head of Design for a luxury knitwear brand. She then began working as a freelance designer and wrote Hand Knits For The Home published by Conran Octopus. She has continued designing hand knit projects for books, magazines and part works, whilst being mum to 3 boys. She contributed designs to Big book of Knitting, Winter Knits Made Easy, Baby and Toddler Knits Made Easy and One Ball Of Wool all published by Dorling Kindersley; the part works The Art of Knitting and Simple Stylish Knitting; the knit book series Big And Little Knits and several knitting magazines. She is also interested in paper craft and embroidery and is author of The Gift Wrapping Book and Cross Stitch For Soft Furnishings. She is on instagram as carolinebirkettknits and you can also find her as CarolineBirkett on Ravelry, which she is beginning to explore as another outlet for her designs.
