Our gingerbread man drawing tutorial is super simple and will only take you a few minutes, and once you know how to draw a gingerbread man you can start getting creative and adding your own custom touches.
We've kept this gingerbread man tutorial as easy as possible, with the first four steps showing you how to get the proportions perfect. However, realistically you can just jump in at step five, as young children may get confused by the measurements.

Step 1
Start by drawing a cross. We've made ours approximately 4cm wide by 6cm high, but you can adjust yours to any size you like as long as the proportions are the same.
Step 2
Draw a capital 'A' on the bottom of the cross. Your legs should go from the centre down to the very bottom of your cross, extending out to half of the width on either side. The crossbar of your 'A' should be approximately halfway down from the centre.
Step 3
Now draw an outline around your 'A' shape and the width line of your cross as shown.
This doesn't need to be exact, but try to keep your outline an even distance as you draw around your lines – we kept our outline to roughly 5mm/0.5cm away from our guidelines
Step 4
Draw a circle in the remaining vertical space as shown.
Step 5
Draw around all of your outlines to create the single gingerbread man shape.
Step 6
Draw in two circles for eyes. Also draw a circle in the centre of the bottom of the head, and evenly space out two more circles below this.
Step 7
Draw two sideways triangles either side of your top circle to turn it into a bow tie.
Give your gingerbread man a happy smile, and some wobbly lines near the tips of each arm and leg - keep in mind that this is supposed to look like icing.
Step 8
Finally, going around and thickening your outline will help to make your gingerbread man drawing stand out, as well as allowing you to tidy up any wobbles in your lines.
If you like you can colour him in with classic biscuit browns, and if you want to get creative, you can try adding a slightly darker shade around the edges to give it a slightly raised effect.
Adding in some randomly placed subtle dots will help add to the biscuit effect.
